RadoNorm organised its Showcase Meeting on 27th March 2025 at the Institute of Natural Sciences in Brussels, which brought together members of the European Commission as well as from international bodies in radiation protection to discuss the main achievements of the project.
This was done in the light of how RadoNorm’s achievements could be implemented and what future research would need to be addressed based on the progress in RadoNorm. Notable dignitaries at the event were Slovenian Member of EU-Parliament, Vladimir Prebilič, presenting his experiences in raising radon awareness in Kočevje Municipality of Slovenia, Deputy Head of Unit for Euratom Research, Domenico Rossetti, presenting the European Commission’s Research Actions in Radiation Protection and Florian Rauser as vice president of BfS.
Three panel discussions around the themes of “health effects & risks”, “exposure & mitigation” and “risk communication & societal aspects” highlighted the relevance of RadoNorm’s progress and its impact on radiation research and implementation.
The presentations can be found on the RadoNorm website.
These results and more of RadoNorm’s latest output will be once again highlighted at the upcoming Final Meeting. Registration is now open and possible with this link.
