Several members of the RadoNorm ECR council helped organise a networking event for early career researchers in the field of radiation protection on 13th and 14th May 2024 in Munich, Germany. Ämilie Degenhardt (BfS), Jad Abuhamed (TAU) and Nazanin Love (U Hasselt) were the main organisers who put together a program showcasing opportunities for ECRs to grow in the field and discussing the establishment of a network in the European framework of Radiation Protection. These efforts moreover addressed a number of actions in the International Commission of Radiological Protection’s Vancouver Call for Action. This first meeting proved to be a highly successful start, with over 40 participants from European institutions coming together to brainstorm ideas and discuss possibilities to make radiation protection an exciting field for young scientists. The event was organised with funding from the PIANOFORTE support for European early career researcher and professional networking activities.
