The RadoNorm-funded citizen science project in Slovenia, RadoNorm-SLO, concluded its activities with a field workshop featuring the mitigation expert from the United Kingdom, Mr. Jerry Board. During the workshop, citizen scientists from Bela Krajina, who conducted radon measurements in their homes, had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Board. In a lecture on radon mitigation strategies, he advised reducing indoor radon concentration levels by employing the best value solution for each property being worked on. The workshop emphasised the need to take action when radon values exceed reference levels.
RadoNorm-SLO used citizen science as support to increasing radon testing and mitigation in Bela Krajina. This collaborative effort engaged 90 citizen scientists towards a common goal of increasing radon testing and mitigation in their community. The project partners include K. König, sole trader, Jožef Stefan Institute, UK Radon Ltd and the local partner, Adult Education Centre, ZIK Črnomelj.
