10th International Symposium on Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM X) organized by the Dutch foundation Radiation Protection Symposium North-West Europe, under the auspices of the Dutch Society for Radiation Protection (NVS), in association with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Utrecht, the Netherlands, is finished.

The general aim of NORM X Symposia is to harmonize and streamline international approaches and methods for radiation protection and residue management in industrial processes involving NORM. The last one’s leading idea was circular economy — the use of residues from industrial operations involving NORM. Special sessions were organized by European NORM Association (ENA) and RICOMET. During the ENA sessions four presentations highlighting RadoNorm WP2 and WP5 outcomes were given. One of them dealing with NORM e-survey https://www.radonorm.eu/norm-e-survey/ was followed by panel discussion moderated by ENA vice president Christian Kunze and RadoNorm representative, Cristina Nuccetelli. More than 30 ENA members and symposium participants, including IAEA representatives, actively participated in the discussion. After the time planned for the discussion had run out, vivid discussion was continued in lobby.

As symposium organizer promised, all presentations given will be available on the IAEA website soon:
