European Citizen Science Collaboration Group
On 24 January 2023, the first meeting of the European Citizen Science (ECS) Collaboration Group was set up. RadoNorm is represented in this group by the coordinator of the citizen science initiatives in RadoNorm, Dr. Meritxell Martell. The ECS Collaboration Group has been launched by the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) in the framework of the European Citizen science project which started in September 2022. The aim of the project is to widen and strengthen the European citizen science community through capacity building and awareness raising activities.
The meetings, to be held once a month, are aimed at 1) strengthening collaboration through harnessing resources and outputs from citizen science initiatives; 2) sharing resources, tools, findings, lessons learned and case studies; 3) networking, disseminating our work, helping and receiving help from peers.
A total of 38 European projects or organisations working on citizen science initiatives were invited to this first meeting. The next meetings will focus on particular topics of interest which were identified by the participants. The ECS Collaboration Group is a great opportunity to disseminate and enrich the citizen science projects to be funded in the framework of RadoNorm.
