Workshop on Radon Diffusion Coefficient Determination in Prague

On May 6, 2024, a workshop focused on understanding advanced techniques of the radon diffusion coefficient determination was held at SURO headquarters in Prague, jointly organised by SURO and the special laboratory OL124 of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the CTU in Prague. Members of RadoNorm were involved in the organisation of the workshop.

Experts from 9 organisations, attended the day-long workshop to discuss measurement methods and mathematical procedures for calculating the radon diffusion coefficient; implementation of ISO/TS 11665-13 requirements into measurement and calculation set-ups; experience with different sample types and the possibilities of using the radon diffusion coefficient in the design of radon-proof courses.

Part of the workshop was dedicated to developing a timeframe for laboratory comparison measurement of the radon diffusion coefficient and comparison of calculation methods.
