Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica

Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (UMB), established in 1992, is the main higher education and research institution in Central Slovakia. Currently, it has six faculties (Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Law), about 500 lecturers and researchers, and about 7000 students. It is a member of the European University Association, and the first Slovak University to obtain the „HR Excellence in Research“ award.
