CIEMAT is a Public Research Institution belonging to the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. It promotes and carries out research and technological projects in the field of energy. CIEMAT is a reference in R&D activities in radiological protection in Spain, participating and leading national and international research projects in radioecology, radiation protection of humans and biota, dosimetry, radioactive waste management. It also develops an important activity in education and training of students and professionals. CIEMAT has participated in many relevant international projects (EJP-CONCERT, COMET, PREPARE, STAR, NERIS) and is partner of the European platforms ALLIANCE, EURADOS, NERIS and SHARE.
