The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) is the Romanian government body for public health protection, subordinated to the Ministry of Health. The INSP’s role is to provide an integrated approach to protecting public health in Romania by providing technically and methodologically coordination for health strategies concerning health prevention, control of communicable and non-communicable diseases and other public health policies from particular fields of activity, at both national and regional level. At the regional level, the activity of INSP is implemented through four national centres and six regional public health centres.
