We gladly announce that in Slovenia on 28th November, RadoNorm started the biggest investigation of people’s behaviour, attitudes and beliefs related to radon and NORM ever. Subsequently, surveys in Spain, Romania and Ireland will take place in the first week of December and in 16 EU Member States and Norway in January 2023. In each country, the representative respondents for age, gender, level of urbanisation, education level and habitat will be randomly selected and 30-min long on-line interviews will be conducted. The RadoNorm open databases will consist of more than 15,000 respondents. Our objective is to develop the European atlas of radon behaviour and provide a ground-breaking socio-psychological empirical evidence for explaining people’s behaviour related to radiation protection from radon. The survey is conducted in collaboration with different European authorities responsible for radon management and guided by methodological experts from University Antwerp and the Nuclear Research Center SCK CEN, Belgium. For any questions related to surveys or results, please contact the principal investigator Dr. Tanja Perko at tanja.perko@sckcen.be.
