RadoNorm Outlines Future Research Priorities at SHARE General Assembly

At the SHARE General Assembly, also the strategic agenda for continuing radon and NORM research beyond the project’s lifetime was presented.

Key priorities include:

  • Sustainable management of NORM, focusing on health risk communication, socio-economic and environmental sustainability, and decision tools for legacy sites.

  • Advancing radon research through stakeholder involvement, better coordination of interventions, and evaluating the impact of policies with attention to ethics and data availability.

The proposal highlights the need for close collaboration between scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure radiation protection strategies are both effective and sustainable.
