Radon Behavioural Atlas

Welcome to the European Radon Behavioural Atlas

The RadoNorm European Radon Behavioural Atlas is the largest and most comprehensive cross-national study to date examining behaviours, attitudes, and awareness related to radon exposure across Europe. The dataset comprises 17,253 respondents, with an average interview duration of 21 minutes and includes over 250 survey items.

Final Meeting

RadoNorm’s Final Meeting take place from 3rd to 5th June in Budapest, Hungary.

RadoNorm will be revealing its newest results in the light of sustainable radiation protection for radon and NORM. RadoNorm Showcase Meeting

RadoNorm’s Showcase Meeting will take place on 27th March 2025 in Brussels.

The meeting will bring together members of the European Commission, international organisations and European Platforms and Partnerships, among others. The main achievements of RadoNorm will be showcased, their implementation in society highlighted and discussions facilitated on the way forward, addressing open questions stemming from the project.

4th Annual Meeting

RadoNorm’s 4th Annual Meeting in 2024 will take place from 10th to 13th June in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The theme of this year’s annual meeting is “translating research into societal output”. RadoNorm Research Seminars

RadoNorm’s online seminars take place every 2nd Wednesday of the month.

The purpose of the seminar series is to present the latest publications and deliverables, PhD dissertations and trending topics in radiation protection. It would also offer a platform where consortium members and stakeholders come together to discuss the relevance of the latest findings and their potential applications in society.

Performance testing of electronic Radon monitors

Measurement performance of electronic radon monitors of different brands commercially available on the market were studied with focus on low-cost devices. Also, an international comparison of continuous monitors was organised. Results will be presented at this workshop held as part of the ERPW2023.

Citizen Science Incubator

One of the RadoNorm goals is to support local communities and citizens to launch citizen science projects in the field of radon. For this, four pilot citizen science projects will be developed and tested in France, Ireland, Norway and Romania. The results of the pilot projects will help to develop recommendations for empowering citizen science initiatives related to radon exposure.

NORM e-Survey

The survey will be available online 10 January – 31 May 2022.

A NORM survey has been formulated with the main objective of gathering specific information and data on different NORM issues, which will contribute to improved understanding and handling of NORM exposure situations.
