The 2024 European Lung Cancer Congress (ELCC), held in Prague, Czech Republic from March 20th to 23rd, was a gathering of experts and professionals dedicated to the research and treatment of thoracic cancers. Representing WP4 of RadoNorm, M. Bernabeu, an associated researcher, and L. Mezquita from the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, actively participated in this forum of scientific exchange.

Bernabeu, with a background in basic research, sought to update himself in clinical and translational research. In his talk, Bernabeu delved into interdisciplinary areas of medical oncology such as oncologic radiology, epidemiology, genetics, and artificial intelligence. He highlighted the use of artificial intelligence in various fields of oncologic medicine and data treatment in the detection and treatment of lung cancer. He also emphasised the importance of studying molecular markers in lung cancer and their association with potential carcinogens like radon. Furthermore, he applied this knowledge to standardise and develop therapies targeted at these pathologies.

The event proved to be an enriching experience, fostering the sharing and discussion of scientific advancements with speakers and addressing key challenges in lung cancer research and treatment.
