INSERM (team “EPICEA – epidemiology of childhood and adolescent cancers”)

The EPICEA team is a member of the CRESS research center, within the French national Institute of health and medical research (INSERM, U1153). The EPICEA team initiated the field of childhood cancer epidemiology in France in the early 90s by creating the National Registry of Childhood Cancer (RNCE) and by starting the development of studies dedicated to research on environmental and genetic risk factors of childhood and adolescent cancer. Most recently the EPICEA team set up a nationwide infrastructure of research dedicated to multidisciplinary research in pediatric oncology, named the Childhood Cancer Observation Platform. The EPICEA team is a driving force in international cooperation on etiological research and on childhood cancer registration.
