The course “Transdisciplinary Communication in Radon and NORM” concluded on Friday April 28, with a visit to Vasa Museum in Stockholm. From risk communication principles to social media campaigns, the program combined theory and hands-on experiences within the theme of multidisciplinarity. Biophysics, architecture, political sciences, psychology, epidemiology, and mechanical engineering were among the various fields represented by both participants and lecturers in the course. The overarching lesson was “to achieve better protection from radon, it is crucial to communicate effectively across disciplines and with the public and stakeholders”.
